Soft Water Softeners:
Minerals like calcium and magnesium leads to hardness of water which
creates scaling problems in water heaters (resulting in lower heat
transfer), boiler humidifiers and plumbing systems. This hardness is
well treated by chemical - physical methods which includes the procedure
of passing hard water through columns, filled with resins. The resins
helps absorb the calcium and magnesium ions from the hard water. Once
the resins are exhausted, then it needs to be replaced.
