Fumigation helps to expose the packed agricultural product to
pressurized CO
2 atmosphere. Optimum condition is required
for the infestation procedure while few hours for the fumigation
process. It is an easy substitute for toxic chemicals, thus, becoming
environment friendly disinfestation processes. The procedure require no
special pre or post treatment.
The process is quite advantageous & better when compared to the
commonly employed poisonous gases, thereby, eliminating all problems of
the residues.
Loss of food grains post harvest during the storage or transport
remains a troubling issue. In order to save the precious harvest grains
from the attack of insects, mites, rodents, fungi and bacteria, lot of
precautions are needed to be taken. More than 4.0 million tonnes of food
grains is lost per year. Construction of sophisticated techniques for
food grains storage and transportation fully equipped with aeration and
fumigation facilities have become a vital strategy.
CO
2 in liquid form is
generally stored in a low pressure vessel. This is evaporated for use as
per individual application. We are equipped with latest vaporizers which
helps reduce costs for CO
2 vaporization. These are :
- Atmospheric Vaporizers:
The natural air is used for saving abundant energy. Easy to
install, since the vaporizers are supplied in one unit ready for use.
This even include a special heat exchanger with copper tubes and
aluminum blades.
- Air Cryogenic Vaporizer:
The fin vaporizers consists of two or more finned aluminum
elements. They are manifolded together around a seamless S.S high
pressure tube, mounted vertically. Each has at least eight fins
which helps in its high capacity performance and faster defrosting.
No additional power or moving parts are required, since,
these units are highly economical and maintenance free. They are
efficient for vaporizing gases or fluids. Air Cryogenic Vaporizer
has sufficient element spacing when compared to the convectional &
natural convection ambient vaporizers. It allows continuous
operation without defrosting characteristic of convectional units.
- Steam Heated Vaporizer:
Steam evaporators are highly cost effective in liquid CO2's
evaporation system. It is twin tube Heat Exchanger where the Liquid
CO2 is placed right in the center tube with steam in the
shell. This eliminates the use of expansive electrical energy,
greatly required by other types of Evaporators. Here, the steam's
heat is properly utilized to vaporise liquid CO2 ,
thereby auto removal of the condensate. Evaporator's capacity is
designed to meet most sufficient heat transfer. Additional such as
shut off valves, safety valves reduction valves and filters are also
provided for its problem free operation. A steam trap is also
provided to regulate the consumption of the steam.
- Electrical Vaporizers:
The air is released in a set of finned tubes whereby the liquid CO2
is circulated for evaporation. Generally, they make use of two sets.
It gets forested when one of them is being utilized happening due to
the low temperature of liquid CO2 evaporation. While the
earlier used tube regains its ready mode. This way regular interval
change keeps on taking place. And thus, continuous stream of
evaporated CO2 gas is produced.
