Compressed air's usage is the most economical form of power for
pneumatic operation, instrumentation and other applications. Efficient
filtration for moisture removal & oil for pneumatic system's smooth
operation is, thus, required. Here comes the utilization of Air/Gas
Dryers for facilitating the effective functioning of pneumatic systems.
Maximum emphasis is on maintaining consistent quality products. To
ensure this, a well-trained work force is required along with a well
framed quality system.
Types of air / gas dryers:
- Heat less Type Air/ Gas Dryers
Pressure swing absorption is the main theory here with
the operation being fully automatic & simple. Absorption helps
remove the moisture from compressed air/ gas. A two drying towers
are provided whose position are changeable as per the designed
cycle. While, air drying occupies one chamber, the other chamber
uses dried air portion & gets re-generated by de-pressurization.
This very dried air helps flushes out the moisture from the
adsorption media. For a complete changeover, slide piston valve,
pneumatic diaphragm operated exhaust valves are used. Best feature
about this dryer is its compact nature & its easy operation and
maintenance.
- Heat Regenerated type Dryer
External heat is basically used here for regeneration of the
adsorbent.
- Internal Heaters: These heaters heat up the
adsorption media for the required degree. Dried air then helps
to flush out the absorbed moisture.
- Blower Heat Regenerated: Compressed air can be saved
which is later on washed in regeneration. Atmospheric air is
heated in an external heater which is then passed through the
drying tower, thus, taking away all the moisture.
- No Purge Loss Split Flow type: A differential valve
helps to split the wet compressed air/ gas at the inlet. Through
an external heater the stream is passed which then reaches the
tower regeneration carrying the absorbed moisture. It is passed
through a cooler where the separation & condensing of the
absorbed moisture is executed.
- Heat of Compression type: Heater is not required here
since the hot compressed air is directly passed through the
drying tower to be regenerated. Though, requirement for a small
electric heater is still there in the incoming hot air line as
it takes care of the hot air's lower temperature. It has
sufficient power saving capacity.
- Refrigerated type Air Dryer
The most common of all, this dryer is used for most industrial
applications, especially for the drying of plant air and utility
gases like hydrogen, nitrogen drying etc. Here, the moisture is
condensed by chilling it down using effective refrigeration cycle.
Thereafter, it is separated by efficients filters. Wide range of
water & air cooled refrigerant air dryers are available here for
moisture removal as well to provide dry clean air to any size and
type of compressed air & pneumatic systems. The power
consumption gets reduced up to 10%. Maximum safety for pneumatic
compressed air equipment are ensured by the latest designs which
even lessens the moisture dirt and oil contamination by either
impaction or integral filtration.
- Skid Mounted Compressed Air System
In dry air plant, the complete assembly is mounted on a common
skid. It has additionals like water cooled after cooler, air
receiver, (Horizontal / Vertical) and Heat less Air dryer. This even
requires power connection, water connection and air inlet/outlet
connection for its proper functioning.
