Onsite plants are usually the most economical means of
storing nitrogen and oxygen. Onsite supply systems use a gas
production plant that is erected on or close to the customer's
site to supply most or all of the operating requirements through
in-plant or local multi-plant distribution pipelines. Onsite gas plants
are integrated with customer stations that store backup liquid to ensure
a continuous supply of product when on-site production is disrupted due
to power failures. These backup systems have very rapid response times
and in times of urgency they also supplement onsite gas production.Advantages of Onsite Plants
- Increased efficiency
- Provide immediate delivery
- Conserves gases well
- Acts as a means of producing nitrogen during emergency
- Improved uniformity
- Reduces coordination efforts
- Encourage innovation
