Cryogenic Liquid Plants

Cryogenic Liquid Plants We are leading and reputed manufacturers and suppliers of Cryogenic Liquid Plants. Cryogenic liquid is a refrigerated, severely cold (-60ºC to -270ºC) and pressurized liquid gas. All cryogenic liquids are very cold and even a small amount of cryogenic liquid can produce very large volumes of gas.

Air separation plants produce oxygen, nitrogen from atmospheric air, normally by one of two processes: cryogenic or non-cryogenic. Industrial cryogenic plants liquefy and distill ambient air to separate it into its components. Cryogenic liquid plants can produce either high production rates of gas and/or liquid products (oxygen, nitrogen, helium and argon) at high purity levels.

As cryogenic liquid plants produces pure Oxygen or Nitrogen, they are filled in cylinders/bottle. Highly useful for medical industry and industrial because they are directly filled into cylinders without coming into contact with air or moisture. Other use includes, industrial gas cutting of steel, brazing of metals, petrochemicals, oil & gas industry.

Standard purity levels are 99.6% pure oxygen product, 99.999% purity in nitrogen product. Higher purity levels are available in certain process configurations. Plant control can be manual or completely automated with remote access capability.

Types of Cryogenic Liquid
  • Liquid Oxygen
  • Liquid Hydrogen
  • Liquid Helium
  • Liquid Argon
Benefits of Cryogenic Liquid Plants
  • Purification of Hydrogen, Nitrogen, Helium, Carbon monioxide.
  • Recovery of Liquid petroleum gas (LPG), Ethane & Ethylene.
  • Natural gas processing for recovering NGL and Helium
Plant Equipment
To run a successful cryogenic liquid plants, one needs to have some equipments. Few of them are:
  • Air Compressor: It is used for compression of air
  • Process Skid: Helpful in the purification of air.
  • Expander: Cooling of air is performed by expander.
  • Air Separation Unit: It works for air separation.
Production Process
  • Compression Of Atmospheric Air
The most efficient dry-type suction filter is used to consume the saturated air from atmosphere at first stage of the horizontal balanced opposed, lubricated reciprocating air compressor. Then the chilling of the compressed air starts. The air is chilled to 12°C at the temperature of 12 degree centigrade to a moisture separator. Before it enters into the Molecular Sieve Battery, the condensed moisture, if any is removed. To be the air oil free also, it has to pass through the Oil Absorber. Finally, it is sent to Molecular Sieve Battery for further process.

  • Purification of Air
The Molecular Silver Battery consists of twin towers is responsible to operate the packed Molecular Sieves. Once, the chilled air goes through this particular tower, it candidly removes the moisture and Carbon dioxide still present in the air. When one of the towers gets regenerated by passing waste Nitrogen gas at 200°C through a reactivation heater, then the other tower is under production which gets exhausted and regenerated by similar process after a gap of 8 to 10 hrs before use. The vicious cycle continues. The dust particles gets filtered in the Dust Filter before it enters the Air Separation Column.

  • Cooling of Air
After air is compressed and purified, it needs to be cooled in the air separation unit to temperatures sub-zero(cryogenic) before liquification process. When this procedure is finished, its main portion skid enters the expansion engine through the heat exchanger no. I where Expander makes the air temperature drop around -165°C. The Expander is sophisticated in design with Teflon piston rings assorted with Hydraulic mechanism. It is fitted with leak proof ball valves.

  • Separation of Liquid Air Into Oxygen And Nitrogen
Air separation is done in an air separation unit. It consists of Upper & Lower column. Special exchanger is also there. The air separation is done by the cryogenic process. The final output whether a liquid oxygen or liquid nitrogen or both goes to the storage tank.

Finally, Cryogenic Liquid Oxygen pump with Cylinder Filling System is needed because it works for withdrawal & filling of Oxygen/Hydrogen into cylinders.
